Welcome,

I am interested in improving or adding the articles of and related to Angola on wikipedia. There is a lot of rubbish or outdated information in related articles and good references are missing a lot. I would like to see an improvement, not least because many people see the link to a wikipedia page as one of the first results on google. The basis of articles should be a good bibliography with respected sources, like a good academic text is bound to have as sources books or magazines of capable writers and publishers. In this case good and updated sources are not always easy to acquire, but the articles related to the fast changing Angola must have some authority at least, in the form of the professional papers or research documents available on the internet. It is normal that text about sensitive subjects should always be judged carefully, contrary to plain uncontroversial subjects that can be believed more easily. Furthermore I prefer to see more synchronization between the articles in various languages. I am using portuguese, english and dutch.

The sources I am using for my information and for writing on wikipedia are mainly news of Angolan media and reports of international organizations, for example:

Angolan press agency, newspapers and magazines online • ANGOP (Agência Angola Press of the Angolan State, based in Luanda) • Jornal de Angola (of Edições Novembro E.P., based in Luanda) • O País (of Grupo Medianova, based in Luanda) • Exame Angola (of Grupo Medianova) • Expansão (of Scoremedia) • Revista Rumo (of Finicapital and Impresa, based in Luanda) • Revista África Today (of Claudia Cardoso, based in Luanda) • Sol. Angolan television through episodes saved online (for example youtube) • TPA (of the Angolan State, based in Luanda) • TV Zimbo (of Grupo Medianova, based in Luanda). Other channels from inside Angola • Novo Jornal. From Portugal • Notícias Angola SAPO (http://noticias.sapo.ao/) • RTP Notícias (in Lisbon, Portugal) • RDP África Notícias. International media • Voz da América português (of the Federal Government of the United States, based in Washington, D.C.). International organizations • The Angola Forum (of Chatham House, independent think thank, based in London) • Africa Program of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (based in Washington, D.C.) • South African Institute of International Affairs • Chr. Michelsen Institute (based in Bergen, Norway) • United Nations.

I am saving the original text of sources I refer to of articles or substantial parts I write.

I wish being able to write something from time to time, in spare time I get. One Love,

Mona iu
