Terminology
editConstructed wetlands as semi-centralized nature-oriented treatment technology for different types of wastewater.
In the past, wetlands have been considered wasteland and have been drained and converted to farmland. Nowadays there is more awareness about the ecological relevance of wetlands and some of them are being restored and recultivated. This is another domain where the term of "constructed wetland" is used.
Applications or appropriateness (in the case of a particular technology)

Background (in the case of a concept)
editI thing we don't need this subheading.
Design considerations (includes construction and, possibly, appropriateness (or the latter could be a section on its own))
editdepends very much on the types, could therefore be sub-section of the different types but not a subheading. The existing article has a sub-section "design characteristics"
Sub-section on "Plants" could be placed either here or within the different types. --> are the plants mostly similar within the types?

but where to put the contaminants removal heading? I am missing something like an operation mode section...

editcontaminants removal could be placed here as well. Also the section on biofiltration.
