About Me edit
Hi! My name is Mira Atkinson. I am a student at Marquette University majoring in Physiology and minoring in Spanish. With my major I want to go to Physician's Assistant school to become a PA. I am originally from a town in Illinois called Grayslake. At home in Grayslake I have 2 little brothers, Ryan and Kevin, my mom and dad and our dog Riley. Riley is a 7 year old cockapoo. My hobbies are running and photography. I have been into long distance running and sprinting since I was a 5th grader in middle school. Since then I have ran on cross country teams throughout middle school and high school. In August of 2019 I ran my first half marathon with my mom in Madison, Wisconsin. Now I have goals of running more half marathons and tackling the Chicago marathon in 2020.

Fun Facts edit
Everyone always has some fun facts about themselves that other's would never be able to guess. For myself, I am half Mexican and fluent in Spanish. My mother was born in Mexico City and lived there till she moved to the United States when she met my dad. When I was born, I was only spoken to in Spanish and then later English.
Like many I am also a fan of traveling and exploring new countries and their cultures. I have been to Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico. One of my many dreams is to travel to Greece, Portugal, and Italy.
My last fun fact I previously attended Iowa State University for my freshmen year of college. There I studied Biology and Spanish until I transferred to Marquette University in the fall of 2018. Many people ask why I decided to transfer and my answer is because I previously was on a pre-medical track for Medical school until I realized that was not what I wanted to do. I still wanted to be involved in the medical field and the career of being a Physician's Assistant was more appealing. Iowa State did not have a program for that but Marquette did so I decided it would be best for my future to transfer to a school that could offer me the best for my future. Since transferring I haven't looked back and have fallen in love with Marquette University.Miralex0209 (talk) 01:48, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
