Douglas Scot Kerns II is a Republican candidate for House District 23 of Montana's state legislature.[1][2] Kerns is a Lutheran pastor, having been ordained in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod after attending Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. [3][4] He has served as a chaplain in the United States Air Force[5] as well as currently being a chaplain with the fire department in Vaughn, MT. [6] He has been a guest pastor five times on KFUO radio.[7] Kerns was a previous Kansas Wing Chaplain for the Civil Air Patrol, the Official Auxiliary of the US Air Force.[8] He also served as Kansas Senate Guest Chaplain on 14 March 2017. Rev. Kerns currently serves as pastor of St. John Lutheran Church- Fairfeild, MT and Zion Lutheran Church- Power, MT.[9]
