Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological and social well being. It affects how we think, feel and act. Mental Illnesses can be formed from things like genetics, use of drugs and abuse in the family. Mental Illnesses can start at any age range and affect both genders. Mental Illnesses are impacting our generation and it is important to recognize those illnesses.[1]

There are over 200 types of Mental Health disorders. It is affecting how many people work, act and function. Some of the more common disorders are Anxiety, Depression, Eating Disorders, ADHD. Within those disorders there are more specific types.

Anxiety is one of the most common mental health disorders. Symptoms include nervousness, panic and fear. Treatments of anxiety include medications and therapy. The most common types of anxiety disorders are Separation Anxiety, Phobias, Panic Disorders and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.[2]

Depression is a curable disease that impacts how you feel, think and act. Depression makes people feel sad, lonely and they may even lose interest in things that they once loved. Depression can be based on genetics. It is very common that people in the same family experience depression. It can also be based on someone's home life. Abuse and neglect could cause someone to get depression. Depression is curable through medication, therapy and exercising. Different types of depression include Psychotic Depression, Seasonal Affective Depression, Persistent Depressive Disorder and Postpartum Depression. [3]

Eating Disorders is a condition that impacts your physical and mental health. [4]It can impact any age range. With an eating disorder, you are thinking about the food you consume, and the weight of your body. Symptoms of an eating disorder depend on the type of person and their body type. Some types of disorders include Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating disorder and Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder. There is no specific thing that could cause an eating disorder, but there are factors that could impact it. Genetics and Biology factors could play a role.

ADHD is diagnosed during childhood and can last up to an adult. People with ADHD have trouble paying attention, have a bad memory or fidget a lot. There are 3 main types of ADHD, Predominantly Inattentive Presentation, Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive Presentation and Combined Presentation. [5] ADHD can be caused by injury to the brain, drug use, or premature delivery. Treatment is different for everyone. For children, it's important to make sure the parents are educated being medication is used.
