III are a heel professional wrestling stable in the National Wrestling Alliance at NWA Charlotte. The Group did not officially debut as III until April 25, 2009 but were causing problems within NWA Charlotte since the inception of the company. For months there was attacks against wrestlers at NWA Charlotte that were causing not only injuries but wrestlers not able to make it to shows. JD Costello was bring in wrestlers and legends to try and help stop these assaults. Finally it was revealed that Judas, Shatter, and O'Reilly were behind these hired "hitmen" coming into the promotion causing havoc.[1]

III has made reference that "III is better than IV" referring to the Four Horseman.

History edit

III started to make their presence known at the Thorns & Roses show with the attacks on Chaotic Agony (Ryan Chaos & Joey Agony) by throwing them off the top of the set before their match started.[2] The second attack was when Phill Shatter attacked Baby Doll during his match by punching her in the face.[2]

At Know Thy Enemy during a match between Jeff Lewis and Brad Anderson Phill Shatter attacked Anderson from behind, when the ref was distracted, to assist Jeff Lewis with the win[3]

The next time III acted as a group to assault other wrestlers was at the Zero Tolerance show when Ryan O'Reilly's opponet for the night Truitt Fields was attacked at a Gas Station in Ga. from behind. To cause Fields to be unable to participate in his match in the main event.[4] Also that night Phill Shatter & Mikael Judas attacked Team Macktion during their introduction and then defeated them in a legal match.[4]

The next time III interfered in a show was at Final Destination when Jim Cornette came to NWA Charlotte as a guest of JD Costello to help deal with the issues with III. During an in ring segment Phill Shatter came out and threated Cornette which prompted Cornette to make Shatter put his title on the line against the debuting Michael Youngblood[5]

At the Disorderly Conduct show III officially debuted their stables name and their intent to rule NWA Charlotte. That night JD Costello brought out Iceberg to challenge any of III. Mikael Judas took the challenge but O'Reilly and Shatter attacked Iceberg before entering the ring. Judas defeated Iceberg with a powerbomb.[6]

Issues within the promotion delayed further shows for a month due to an a call to 911 from a mystery caller had the show shut down early by the fire department[6]

At the first show in the new locations for NWA Charlotte called Total Compliance it was discovered that III was not responsible for the show being shut down but the current NWA Charlotte Heavyweight Champion Truitt Fields. During the Ricky Steamboat, Jr. vs. Vordell Walker match III attacked Steamboat after the match. This act brings out team Macktion and Timber. This makes a match at the end of the show pitting III as a collective vs. Team Macktion and Timber. The match ends with Ryan O'Reilly slamming both members of Team Macktion from his shoulders.[7]

III entered the Queen City Tag Team Classic Tournament and in the first round faced Lodi & Timber in a NoDQ anything goes match. III won when Ryan O'Reilly pinned Timber. The second round III (Ryan O'Reilly & Phill Shatter) faced off against the SkullCrushers. The match ended in a Double Countout due to both teams fighting outside of the ring.[8]

New National Power Tag Team edit

NWA Charlotte announced today that three nationally-renown professional NWA wrestlers have been placed together in a new NWA National Power Tag Team called “III”.

NWA Charlotte is proud to be a major focal point in the continuing growth and re-birth of the national NWA brand,” said NWA Charlotte President JD Costello. “Part of our responsibility as a full member is to develop new national talents and present them in a full presence complete with a marketing impact for fans to enjoy across the country.”

The new members of “III” include NWA National Heavyweight Champion Phill Shatter, “Rough House” Ryan O’Reilly, and Mikael Judas “The Priest of Punishment”. The trio has been wrestling together under the heel banner since NWA Charlotte put them together in February 2009. “We formally introduced the ‘III’ brand and package during our April 25th show,” added Costello.

The “III” concept carries the tagline, “III is better than IV,” a vagrant slap against the famous Four Horsemen. “The members of ‘III’ have no respect for authority, history or peers as they dominate the current NWA Charlotte scene and prepare to launch a national NWA tour,” added Costello. “Their mission is to use whatever means at their disposal to win championships, titles, and bring harm to their opponents.”

At the recent May 30th show at NWA Charlotte, NWA World Tag Team Champions The SkullKrushers faced members of “III” in a match that ended in a double disqualification. “The almighty strength and presence of both The SkullKrushers and ‘III’ in the ring was an unbelievable clash of power, force and fortitude,” said Costello. “Our fans inside NWA Coliseum were on their feet as these huge behemoths faced each other.”\

Shatter, O’Reilly and Judas each have distinguished wrestling careers at promotions across the southeast US, the country and overseas. “These three athletes are at the top of their game,” said Costello. “It was a natural evolution to put them together and form the unstoppable force of ‘III’, and I want to make sure they have the opportunity to travel and face the best tag teams that NWA has to offer across the globe.”

The first title that the members of “III” have on their agenda is to claim the first NWA Charlotte Tag Team Championship coming up in August 2009. “We have some really good tag teams at NWA Charlotte and the members of ‘III’ will have their hands full as they drive toward dominating that title,” added Costello.[9]

Members edit

Mikael Judas edit

Mikael Judas debuted in June 1999 and began working for many independent promotions located in the southeast of the United States.

NWA Wildside 2002-2005 edit

Mikael Judas became apart of NWA Wildside as the 1 Man Mafia Mikal Adryan in May 2002 as part of The Elite Swingers.

In June 2003 that group disbanded and he and Murder 1 became The Dark City Soldiers in June of 2003. December 2003 Jeff G. Bailey offered Judas a chance to be apart of the NWA ELITE with Rainman, Azreal and Jason Cross.

Judas has had Dark matches with the WWE and TNA.

NWA Anarchy 2005 - Present edit

After the death of NWA Wildside, Judas became a top star with NWA Anarchy. Including winning the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Championship at Hostile Environment in 2005.

Phill Shatter edit

"Universal Soilder" Phill Shatter has seen his share of combat in and out of the ring. A veteran of the U.S. Military

In 2006 Phill Shatter & Truitt Fields arrived in NWA Anarchy both Vets from the Iraqi war and now Tag Team Partners. Shatter's success in this tag team did not see them moving up in the ranking. Shatter turned on his former partner and enlisted the management services of Jeff G. Bailey and his NWA Elite.

Shatter's battle with Iceberg moved him up the roster to be the number 1 challenger to the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion, Ace Rocwell. The match between the two showed a former champion and a new NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion at the end of 2007. Cite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page).

Shatters greatest accomplishment was when he captured the NWA National Heavyweight Championship from Crusher Hansen in January 17, 2009. This title win shows how far Shatter has come in such a short time. His focus, delivery, and match quality proved that he deserved this title.

Phill Shatter has already been noticed by the WWE that they have offered him a development deal with Florida Championship Wrestling[10].

Shatter had been a major attraction with NWA Charlotte as well. his presence in the company has been felt by all and has become a force to be dealt with after joining the group III[1] .

Ryan O'Reilly edit

O'Reilly began wrestling in 2001 and after four years on the independent circuit made his DSW debut losing to Jack Bull (with Angel Williams) at DSW's first show on September 1, 2005. On June 22, 2006, O'Reilly defeated Derrick Neikirk to win the DSW Heavyweight title.[11] On September 7, O'Reilly lost the DSW Heavyweight Championship to Bradley Jay. After this loss, O'Reilly would become less active and eventually became the personal assistant of DSW General Manager Krissy Vaine on October 12. He briefly regained the title in March, 2007. On April 7, he would make his last appearance defeating Afa, Jr. with the sleeper hold. O'Reilly and Eric Perez were originally scheduled to face The Samoans (Afa, Jr. and Sonny Siaki) in the main event of the final event held by DSW, however he was injured in an attack by The Samoans prior to the match. Afa, Jr. hit him with a superkick and he and his partner knocked O'Reilly unconscious with a double headbutt. He and Perez were replaced by The Major Brothers.[12] Thereafter, he briefly appeared in Florida Championship Wrestling, a WWE developmental territory, where both Lacey Von Erich and Maryse Ouellet were his valets. On October 10, he and his girlfriend Krissy Vaine were released from their contracts which they requested due to personal reasons. One of the reasons for their decision was health problems suffered by their families, specifically O'Reilly's father who had recently suffered a stroke.[13] On February 14 2009 Ryan O'Reilly made his return back to the ring working for NWA Charlotte where he wrestled against Truitt Fields who works with NWA Anarchy. O'Reilly works for mainly NWA affiliations now and you can find him along the east coast mainly in the Carolina area's. Since being there Ryan O'Reilly has become part of a new alliance that has been established by NWA Charlotte promoter JD Costello called III.
