The Alexandra Volcanics are a chain of volcanoes in the Waikato, New Zealand.

The volcanoes (from west to east) comprise Karioi, Mount Pirongia, Mount Kakepuku, Te Kawa, Tokanui (Waikato)

The volcanoes are of geological importance, in that they do not fit any known fault line, are arranged approximately 90 degrees from the fault boundary and the Taupo Volcanic Zone.

Cultural Significance

It appears that the volcanoes become younger moving from west to east, with Mount Pirongia in the advanced stages of erosion, Kakepuku less so, and Te Kawa having a very visible crater structure from the air. They also become smaller from west to east, with Tokanui being just a 30-metre rise in the landscape.
