editThe soundtrack for the Tv series was composed by Shiro Sagisu, with titles for the background music provided by Hideaki Anno. Anno was also the producer for the soundtrack. Three albums were released, each featuring an Evangelion pilot on the cover art.
Neon Genesis Evangelion
editThe first album of the series to be released was Neon Genesis Evangelion. It was released by King Records with the catalog number KICA 286 on December 6, 1995. The tracks on the album were recorded between May 12, and May 16, 1995. The cover features Shinji Ikari and Unit-01.

Neon Genesis Evangelion III
editNeon Genesis Evangelion III was released by King Records on May 22, 1997 with the catalog number KICA 300. The cover art features Asuka Langley Soryu, drawn by Shinya Hasegawa. The first copies came with a cardboard slipcase, and a booklet Encyclopedia of Neon Genesis Evangelion III which contained character designs.

Evangelion:Death
editEvangelion: Death is a soundtrack containing music from the first part of the first Evangelion film, Evangelion: Death and Rebirth. The disc contains several tuning tracks and string solos that are portrayed in the film as being played by the four primary Evangelion pilots. The disc includes as bonus tracks "False Regeneration" from the Rebith portion of the film as well as Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem. The CD is no longer in print. [4]

editEvangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone Original Soundtrack (catalog number KICA 886) is the second soundtrack album of the 2007 film Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone. It features music composed by Shirō Sagisu, as well as the film's theme songs, performed by Utada Hikaru, and three bonus songs (two of which were unused in the film) sung by Misato Katsuragi's seiyū Kotono Mitsuishi. The first press version of the soundtrack included a white slipcover and an Evangelion: 1.0 postcard. The score was performed by the London Studio Orchestra, and recorded at Abbey Road Studios.

editEvangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance Original Soundtrack is the soundtrack album of the 2009 film Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance. It features music composed by Shirō Sagisu and performed by the London Studio Orchestra, as well as two bonus songs. The album was released on July 8, 2009 in both a single-disc regular edition (catalog number KICA 985) containing the music as edited for the film, and a special edition (catalog number KICA 983/4) that features an additional disc containing unedited versions of the music and a twenty page booklet with commentary by Shirō Sagisu, as well as sheet music excerpts. The first press edition of the special edition included a hard plastic orange slipcover and an Evangelion: 2.0 postcard.

editNeon Genesis Evangelion Addition is the fourth music album released relating to the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise. It features a variety of tracks: three instrumental, five vocal, and four drama tracks. Addition was released on December 21, 1996 in Japan by King Records in two editions: a limited and a regular addition. the soundtrack "After the end" was a track within the set which, was humorous parody in which the reunited cast tries to come with ways to continue Evangelion'. The Cover shows Toji, Shinji , Rei , Asuka, Kaworu and EVA unit 01.

Some of the songs are new versions of tracks included on Neon Genesis Evangelion II, Neon Genesis Evangelion III and Evangelion: Death and Rebirth. All songs are performed by Takahashi Yoko (who performed the opening theme for the series as well as other tracks), with the exception of track 14 which was recorded on the streets of London by street singers. The strange grammar of the title is a result of a slight mistranslation by the record company. This album is an official Evangelion album
Evangelion VOX
editEvangelion-VOX is an album consisting of songs from and based on the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime TV series and the movie The End of Evangelion. The songs are R&B/Hip Hop remakes of several pieces of background music from the Evangelion series. One of them, "Thanatos - If I Can't Be Yours -", was played over the end credits of the End of Evangelion.

editNeon Genesis Evangelion: S² Works is a Soundtrack album Boxset containing the music of Neon Genesis Evangelion, Evangelion: Death and Rebirth and The End of Evangelion. The Box set contained 7 disc and includes many unused songs and remixes of the series. Each disc contains a different character on the cover. the characters are, Rei, Shinji, Misato, Kaworu, Asuka, and EVA unit 00. the bonus disc contains a picture of a hand covered in blood as the cover.

As its title indicates, its focus is Rei Ayanami, one of the three primary protagonists of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Rei Ayanami's "official" fictional birth date however, is unclear.[14][15].
