Thomas Marion Clark, also known as "Mountain Tom", was a former soldier of the Confederate Army and then the Union Army who became known as an outlaw, committing most of his crime in the city of Florence, Alabama, located in Lauderdale County.

He first moved to Florence to avoid being drafted into the Confederate Army during the American Civil War, however this was unsuccessful. In 1864 Clark deserted the Confederate Army and enlisted into the Union Army.

His crimes last from the mid 1800s until his death in 1872. He confessed to at least sixteen murders, including that of a young boy.

He was hanged on September 4, 1872 and is said to be buried under East Tennessee street in Florence, Alabama outside of the Florence Cemetery. On top of his grave sits a marker that mentions his exploits.
