Historic routing

edit

SR 84 was legally defined as Route 117 from SR 1 to US 101, Route 107 from US 101 to I-680, Route 108 from I-680 to SR 12, and Route 99 from SR 12 to I-80.[1] SR 84 from I-580 to SR 12 is currently unconstructed; plans were once underway to construct a six-lane tollway called the Mid-State Tollway, but were abandoned in 2001 due to community opposition.[2][3]
