The Pregnancy Pact is based on a true story of four young girls who attend Gloucester High School in Massachusetts; who all decide to get pregnant during high school. The movie begins with Sidney Bloom (Birch) an old Gloucester High alumni writing a video blog about teen issues. Her main story is a story about teen pregnancy. After finding out that her old high school has increased from ten to eighteen teen pregnancies in the last two months, Sidney decides to go back home and investigate the situation.[2]

When Sidney returns to Gloucester High School, Nurse Kim (Manheim) begins to tell Sidney that there has been over one hundred and fifty pregnancy test in the past two months. After hearing this shocking news Sidney decides to interview local girls from the high school and interview them on why they are getting pregnant. As soon as Sidney starts interviewing local high school students, she runs into four young girls at the age of fifteen. The problem is that three out of the four are already pregnant. The only one of the girls who is not pregnant is Sara (Beaty), but that will change because the girls convince Sara to get pregnant as soon as possible.

Even though, Sara agrees that she’s going to get pregnant the sense of nervousness is shown throughout her face. After talking with Rose, Karissa, and Iris, Sara goes to her boyfriend Jesse’s (Ehrich) house to spend a little more alone time together. After Sara and Jesse had sex, they start talking about their future together. Jesse believes that him are Sara are going to be together forever. Since Jesse is a year older than Sara, he says that he wants to go away to school with Sara, get married, and eventually have kids with Sara. Although, Jesse says that he and Sara are going to be together forever, Sara feels scared that she’s going to lose him and believes that getting pregnant is the only way to keep the man of her dreams.

After Sara and Jesse have had intercourse, Sara is over a week late and is told by her friends to take a pregnancy test. The pregnancy test is positive, and now all four girls are pregnant. All of the girls become extremely excited because now they can all raise their babies together, and all the kids can grow up together just like they did. Once Sara’s mom, Loraine (Travis) finds out, she not only tells Sara that she has to tell Jesse, but also decides to hold a meeting about providing contraception on school property. The meeting is extremely stressful because Nurse Kim is fighting for birth control to be provided on school, but Loraine feels that allowing birth control to be provided on campus would encourage kids to have sex even more.[3]

When Sidney finds out that Sara is pregnant a new story of a pregnancy pact begins being issued in Times Magazine. Time Magazine believes that all of these girls decided to create a pact and get pregnant at the same time, so that they would always have a baby who would love them unconditionally. Once the news of the pregnancy pact comes out Jesse becomes furious and asked Sara if she was ever a part of the pack. Sara denies being a part of any pact and for a while things seem to be going perfectly, but when Sidney asks if Sara can do a blind interview by saying that the pregnancy pact is true than maybe it would encourage other girls not to get pregnant. As Sidney is describing how they could fade Sara out of the image, Jesse and Sara’s mom over hear the conversation. As soon as Jesse finds out that Sara was a part of the pack he says that he doesn’t want anything to do with Sara or the baby. Now that Sara is forced to raise this baby on her own, she decides that drinking and taking drugs is the only way to get rid of the pain. During the last few months of Sara’s pregnancy, she sees that Jesse has moved on, and is now realizing that this pregnancy pact might not have been the greatest idea after all.
