Karthik Sarma is an MD/PhD student at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Before that, he was an undergraduate at the California Institute of Technology where he majored in Computer Science. He is also an alumnus of the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. His career interest is in medical informatics.

Karthik is also involved in health policy and organized medicine, and is a member of the House of Delegates of the American Medical Association and a member of the Council on Information Technology of the California Medical Association. He also serves on the Committee on Legislation and Advocacy of the medical student section of the AMA and is an advisor to MetaMed.
