2016 outbreak of yellow fever in Asia

On 13 March 2016, the Chinese authorities in Beijing confirmed a case of yellow fever in a 32-year-old Chinese male who had recently returned from Angola, where an outbreak of yellow fever had started in December 2015. [1] Within two weeks, additional cases had been imported from Angola, all workers from the eastern province of Jiangsu and Shanghai who had not been vaccinated before traveling to Angola. The first case thought to be autochthonous was identified on 9 April 2016 by the Chinese Department of . By the end of April, more than 1,000 cases were being officially reported, but authorities had no firm estimate on how many actual cases there were.
