Logan Regional Hospital is a 148-bed general hospital located in Logan, Utah. It is owned by Intermountain Healthcare. The hospital serves Cache Valley, including Cache County, Utah and Franklin County, Idaho, and western Wyoming. The hospital provides a Level III Trauma Center, Cancer Center, Women and Newborn Center, digital imaging services, and heart catheterization services.
History
editIn 1948, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints acquired and consolidated the two hospitals in Cache Valley, The Budge Memorial Clinic and Cache Valley General Hospital, as part of the Church's health system. In 1975, the Church donated the healthcare system to local communities. The Logan LDS Hospital was one of fifteen hospitals donated to Intermountain Healthcare, which began operations April 1, 1975. The now secular hospital relocated in 1980 to a larger, more modern facility where they continue to operate. Since relocating, Logan Regional has added the Intermountain Budge Clinic, a Women and Newborn Center (opened in 2007), and a Cancer Center (opened in 2008).[2]

editAfter five years of planning, the hospital began an interventional cardiology program in 2012. The two new labs provide diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures, specialized radiology services, and pain management procedures. Before these labs, Logan Regional provided only diagnostic services. The new services are provided for in part by more than $340,000 in donations.[3] The American Heart Association recognized Logan Regional in 2013 with a national award — the Get With The Guidelines – Heart Failure Gold Quality Achievement Award.[4]
