John Baranski is Professor of History at El Camino College in Torrance, California. In his classes, as in his research, he examines the relationship between knowledge, place and identity, and power in urban settings. He attended Los Angeles Valley College (Los Angeles), Sonoma State University (Rohnert Park, CA), San Francisco State University, and University of California, Santa Barbara.
