Jack Beanstalk is a play on Jack and the Beanstalk. The unintended moral values in the well known children's story are fascinating - Jack goes to foreign lands, plunders their treasures and kills the foreigners. Theft and murder are acceptable if done to "others". Is Jack the "Union Jack", reflecting the morals of England's conquests of the unsuspecting worlds in the heyday of the British Empire?
