Marduk-apla-iddina II (Babylonian cuneiform: Marduk-apla-iddina, meaning XXX), also known as Merodach-Baladan or just Baladan, was a Chaldean chief of the Bit-Yakin tribe who twice seized the throne of Babylon, ruling as king of Babylon in opposition to the rule of the Neo-Assyrian Empire from 722 to 710 BC, and in 703 BC.
