OriginXT, otherwise known as the OriginXT RPG Network, is web forum devoted to RPG and intellectual discussion. The website has been running since July of 2002 and boasts over 1,500 members who have posted over 200,000 times. The administrator of the website is Jinghao Yan. In order to post on the website, you must be a registered member.
The Website
editThe website, moderated by Jinghao Yan himself, a Leland High School (California) graduate, prides itself on intellectual discussion. This is seen through the forums titled "Interesting News" and the "Origin University" forum, both which have threads pertaining to contemporary issues such as abortion, religion, death penalty as well as various other topics ranging from the emergence of China to the stem cell debate.
The rest of the website contains a variety of subjects. There are sub-forums ranging in everything from the "Chat and Talk" forum, where users talk about almost anything, to the music sub-forum, where users can discuss music styles and artists. There is also an RPG forum, but due to the lack of activity, the forum is not widely used.
Other features of the website include an arcade. To use the arcade, members must have a certain amount of posts. Users save their high scores to compete with other members. In addition, there is a currency system, featuring the "zeny" currency unit, complete with a banking system and stock market. There is also a store, which can be used to buy various products, from items related to the RPG, such as weapons and accessories, to specific moderation options, such as changing a username or opening and closing a topic.
