Club career
editWilmslow High School u13 B
editAfter starting his career off at Wilmslow High School, Lappin often attended training however would never receive a first team call up. However in 2020 this would all change. In the 19/20 season Lappin started every game at right back for the B team and locked down that role, even scoring his only career goal in a 4-4 draw with Stockport Grammar.
Wilmslow High School u15 A
editDue to the 2019 coronavirus, the 19/20 school football season was curtailled and no football took place throughout the whole next season so game time for Lappin was extremely limited. An unexpected bet led Lappin to get a call up for the A team in the 2021/22 season and Lappin played the role of player/manager, often picking the starting line up but also making a handful of appearances at position such and full back and right wing. In total, Lappin made 5 friendly appearences for the A team and was an unused substitute in 2 cup games, including the victorious final, leading to him receiving a medal.
Wilmslow Town Cougars
editAt some point Lappin went on trial with a Wilmslow Town team one year above him. After an unsuccessful trial and 1 appearance, he left.
Wilmslow Town Tigers
editLappin would retire from school football after 9 appearences and 1 goal, going down as possibly the most underwhelming and biggest waste of time in school football history. After a succesful trial, Lappin signed a 1 year contract with Wilmslow Town ahead of the 2022/23 season, he would make his debut starting at left back in a 4-1 loss to champions elect Winton Wanderers. Several consecutive starts followed yet no victories. Lappin was dropped to the bench for the first time against West Didsbury and Chorlton in a 2-1 loss, Lappin would go onto make the odd start but would never establish a consecutive streak the way he did when he first joined. In August 2023, Lappin signed a 2 year contract, in order to see it out until u18s. On the opening day of the 2023/24 season, Lappin- off the bench- took a free kick from the edge of the D- the first of his career- it only just whistled past the post but this was an encouraging sign from him. However this would not convince any change in game time as for the first time since signing for the club, Lappin was an unused substitute in the 3-2 loss to Egerton. He claimed an assist in an 8-3 humbling to Wythenshawe and this was encouraging as it was his first goal contribution in 2 years.
