The California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) James R. Watson & Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education is an academic college at California State University, San Bernardino. The college prepares undergraduate and graduate students for careers as professional educators, including careers as administrators, teachers, professors, school psychologists and counselors, resource and training specialists, and educational support personnel.

The College contributes to the knowledge base of both educational theory and practice through research and scholarship. The College also provides appropriate public service/technical assistance to local, regional, national, and international individuals and agencies.

The College of Education building, opened in 2008, is a three-story structure that consolidates lecture halls, classrooms, graduate research laboratories, faculty offices and administrative support spaces.

Latino Education & Advocacy Days summit

Founded in 2010 by professor and researcher Dr.Enrique Murillo, the Latino Education and Advocacy Days Summit was created to help tackle the gap that exists between the educational attainment of Latinos and other Americans. Latinos have higher high school dropout and lower college-going rates than their non-Latino counterparts and score lower on standardized tests. The conference has attracted big names in education, including various university and college presidents and school-district officials. It’s also attracted White House officials and politicians such as Julian Castro, who was mayor of San Antonio, Texas when he spoke in 2013 and later served as the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Obama Administration.
