The Green Liberal Democrats are an Associated Organisation[1] of the Liberal Democrats (UK) formed as part of the merger of the Liberal Party and Social Democratic Party from the Liberal Ecology Group and those individuals in the SDP that knew about the need for an environmental policy group.

Mission Statement edit

The Green Liberal Democrats stated aims are:

  • Ensure that the Liberal Democrats' proud record of environmental leadership at all levels of government continues
  • Establish and develop links with the wider green movement.
  • Inform and educate party activists, policymakers, candidates and elected representatives on environmental issues.
  • Support individuals within the party who are advancing the agenda of environmental stewardship and generational justice.

Challenge Magazine edit

Since its formation the organisation has produced a magazine called Challenge for its members, informing them of environmental concerns and policy responses.
