Haruhara was born in Los Angeles, California to Keiko Elizabeth Haruhara. Her mom had high hopes for her to become a baseball player but Haruko showed no interest. She than liked acting. After her mom learning Haruko's hobbie, she helped her daughter pursue that field as a little girl. In 1951, she first started doing plays and loved the environment. Haruko was performing a play in 1955 and was offered a full time job. Keiko accepted the offer for Haruko after bagging for it. Haruhara started her acting career on March 16th, 1955.

Early career

edit

Haruko began doing a short movie in 1955. She than accpeted to play as Jenny as her first major role. 1956 - 1958. Haruhara than left the acting career and started learning how to play the bass, guitar, drums, violin, and sing in 1959. She than started (a fictional band). Haruko on guitar, her brother, Noata Haruhara on bass/vocals, and her friend, Ashley Anderson formed a group called, The Psychedelic Band. The band were not a major band, however, they still are togethor. The Psychedelic Coolys (TPB) were a rock band and later on turned into new wave. Sometimes Haruko plays the bass, sometimes she played the drums. So all the band members switched on and off to different instruments. The band started from 1959 - present.

FLCL role

Haruko Haruhara (ハルハラ・ハル子, Haruhara Haruko?), age 19 (or so she claims), is an energetic, spontaneous pink-haired girl from outer-space and investigator for the Galactic Space Patrol Brotherhood/Stellar Mamimi observes that she looks at least twenty years old but, considering that she is of an unknown alien species, neither Mamimi nor the viewer has a relevant frame of reference. She rides a yellow Piaggio Vespa (and is also known as The Wasp Woman, a pun on the word Vespa, which means wasp) and wields a blue left-handed Rickenbacker bass guitar model 4001 (similar to the 4001 used by Paul McCartney, whom she mentions in Episode 5), with a pull-cord motor on the back, as a bizarre weapon of sorts. Her guitar is able to shoot bullets, act as a rocket launcher, fly, and is used several times to open an N.O. channel in Naota's forehead. She leaves it for a more powerful double-necked guitar (a fusion of the Gibson Flying V, drawn from Naota's N.O. channel, and the 1961 Gibson EB-0, from Atomsk's, that Naota creates while harnessing Atomsk's power) when she departs from Earth in Episode 6.

She becomes the Nandaba household's maid and plays on a rival team of the Mabase Martians seemingly for extra money, but in fact to knock a satellite out of Earth's orbit with the baseballs she hits. She has also apparently had past relations with Amarao, most likely similar to her relationship with Naota. This mysterious character is the catalyst for FLCL's entire plot. She is called Haruha Raharu (ハルハ・ラハル) by Amarao; this may be another alias, however. Haruko has connections to the Nandaba family cat, Miu Miu. The cat serves as a "walkie talkie" to her superiors. The cat does not speak (besides its "meows" and grunts) but it is obvious that Haruko is getting some kind of reply as her conversations with Miu Miu are reminiscent to that of a telephone conversation.

Naota calls Haruko Haruhara "Haruko", Kamon calls her "Haruko-san", and Mamimi refers to her as "Haru-san". Amarao, who believes her real name to be Haruha Raharu, refers to her as "Raharu".

At the end of the manga adaptation, a character identical to Haruko appears from Naota's forehead. She claims to be "Haruha Raharu's superior[...]Superior Raharu"[1] and that Haruko is on the run from the Galaxy Space Police Brotherhood. It is not clear if this is a separate character, or Haruko pretending to be someone else.

Sailor Moon role

Haruhara also played as Chibiusa from Salior Moon. Chibiusa is the future daughter of Usagi Tsukino and Mamoru Chiba, and was sent back in time to the "present" (Early 1990s AD) to stay with them before she was born. Her real name is the same as her mother's, but is called Chibiusa in Japanese (and Rini in English) to avoid confusion between the two. Her name in the English-language version of Sailor Moon, Rini, is a diminutive of "Serena", the name of her mother. She is known for having pink hair put into a unique style that resembles rabbit ears on top of her head. Chibiusa's hair is apparently truly pink, and not just colored that way for stylistic purposes; its color is stated in the poem on her Sailor Stars CD single.[4] In the anime, several references are made to her hair color and people even tease her about her pink hair.

In Act 20 of the manga, it's mentioned that she is 900 years old, and the reason for her apparent youth is not fully understood. She later claims to be 902.[5] Her exact age was not disclosed in the anime, and her time travelling complicates guessing. It can be estimated at approximately five years old when she is introduced (the candles on her birthday cake in one memory indicate so in Episode 85), and perhaps eleven or twelve when she returns later on. Chibiusa is usually very upbeat, extroverted and outgoing. Though she started out socially awkward, she quickly became popular. Chibiusa's affections come into conflict because she generally does not immediately identify Usagi and Mamoru as being her parents from the future, although she is aware of the fact. There is evidence that Chibusa has a hard time identifying Usagi and Mamoru as being her future parents since she sees such a sharp contrast in personality between their present and future selves. She also reacts differently toward Usagi and Mamoru than she does towards King Endymion and Neo-Queen Serenity, being more respectful to the latter but more spontaneous to the former; it is not clear if she prefers one set over the other. It is clear she has more friends in the 20th century rather than the 30th century and this plays into whether she will stay or go back to the future.

In the manga, she once became president of her class.[6] She gradually matures as the series goes on. Because her dream in the manga is to become a beautiful lady, her actions often are based around this. She tries to be a perfectionist and starts off trying to do everything alone and for herself. This view evolves as she realizes what maturity really is and what it really means to be an adult.

In the anime, she is more judgemental and does not mature as much as her manga counterpart. She often picks on Usagi for Usagi not doing her homework and showing off her good grades (Episode 153,[7] for example). This is not because she dislikes or hates Usagi, it's because they act more like siblings, and this is often commented upon (as seen in Episode 104[7]). People they meet, normally the victim of the day, often mistake them for sisters.

Chibiusa's dream is to one day become a real lady,[8] to have her own prince, and to be friends with everyone she knows.[9] Meanwhile, she is a fairly ordinary little girl; she likes pink and red, pudding, pancakes,[10] and rabbits. Her favorite school subject is drawing, while her least favorites are language classes. Her least favorite food is listed in the manga as carrots, just like Usagi, but they both eat them in the anime.[11] Chibiusa hates taking care of the house[1] and is afraid of such things as thunder and lightning,[12][13] ghosts, vampires,[14] dentists,[15] and needles.[16] She also likes to collect things with rabbits on them, and belongs to the Gardening Committee at school.[5] She is about 106 centimeters (3 ft 6 in) tall when she first appears, and grows somewhat taller during the story (to perhaps 130 cm or 4 ft 3 in.[17] Her blood type is O.[1] Haruko was just a little girl during this roll.

Today

edit

Haruhara is now at age 60 and still is the same Haruko everyone you primarily from FLCL for her random and un-cirtant personallity. She's even more crazier than ever and is ready to play as a role of some type at anytime. Off the manga and shows, Haruko is really a loveable person, but still crazy and funny from time-to-time.
