History

edit

The Sinobal Football Club was founded from the Hangzhou University team alumni network in 1998 as the second ever established football club in the city of Hangzhou. The next four years, the club expands to a younger generation of amateur players.

In 2003, after the China PR national football team disappointing performance in 2002 FIFA World Cup Sinobal FC started focusing its efforts on development and grassroots projects in Chinese football. Afterward the Chinese Football Association started a project to develop the grassroots football in the country called the China school football project.

In 2006 Sinobal FC became China Amateur League Regional Champion and National 3rd Runner Up.

In 2009 they associated with Hangzhou Football Association and the Chinese Football Association in a school football program within 44 cities to develop sports practice for Chinese youth. For three years the Sinobal FC managed all youth development via the School Football project in Hangzhou. Nowadays they are leading several projects looking to bring football to the most remote and rural areas of China. Most notably the establishment of China Grassroots Football, the first Chinese Football Specific Non-profit NGO, using football as a community platform in underprivileged areas in Greater China.
