sandbox- The 2006-2007 Scottish First Division Play-off final was played over two matches between Scottish First Division side Airdrie United and Scottish Second Division side Stirling Albion. The first match was played at Forthbank Stadium, Stirling on May 9, 2007. The second match in the tie was played at Excelsior Stadium, Airdrie on May 12, 2007.

The play off final was for to decide weather Airdrie United should remain a First Division side and Stirling Albion should remain a Second Divison side or should Airdrie United be relegated to the Second Division and should Stirling Albion be promoted to theFirst Division.

  • The play off games were the first time both teams played each other since Airdrie United replaced Airdrieonians in 2001.
  • This was the second year where play offs have been used in the Scottish Football League to decide if the teams placed 9th in the higher division maintain there status and the teams placed 2nd to 4th in the lower league.
  • The last time Stirling Albion played an Airdrie club was March 21, 1998 when they faced Airdrieonians at he Excelsior Stadium
