For IP address users edit

Hi, Editor X, and welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia where anyone can edit.

Just to inform you, using an IP address to edit Wikipedia is strongly unrecommended. Other people all around can just hack into your IP address and vandalize, leaving you unable to edit Wikipedia.

Furthermore, you can have a unique ID and be remembered by other Wikiusers around whom you have somehow influenced and inspired. Also, with a unique ID, people would be able to give you awards. Who would give a random IP address user an award? Also, you can have many user page functions like Guestbooks, Hidden pages and more. Nobody would bother to go to an IP address to sign his/her name. After all, it may be shared by multiple people.

Plus, if you are living with other people, they can just use the computer and edit Wikipedia, and possibly Vandalise Wikipedia just for the fun of it.

Having a user account stops all that. So why don't you make one?

Regards, ge6m 09.
