Any particular reason why you blanked your page?? ... Just wondering -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 08:48, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

I second that question, I hope you're not leaving us ——Ryan | tc 15:43, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
I am not leaving, just on a trip to europe right now and blanking my page felt like a way to tell people that I am not very active at this time. Thanks for your concern. - Icewedge (talk) 20:12, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Hiya, thanks for taking that annoying automatic bot warning off Thevetia peruviana. That was helpful! Cheers, IceCreamAntisocial (talk) 06:54, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi! Please leave a message on my talkpage saying I requested access to the ACC (account creation tool by SQL) tool and I will give you access. Alternetly, join #wikipedia-en-accounts on Freenode via a client or Mibbit. SwirlBoy39 16:56, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

You've been given access :) SwirlBoy39 17:16, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
When declining a user for too similar, only mark it as that if the user it's similar to has edited and been created recently. If it hasn't defer to admins. SwirlBoy39 17:52, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Ok, sorry. Thanks for the tip. - Icewedge (talk) 09:48, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

George E. Moore

On 21 June, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article George E. Moore, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

For letting me know about the problem with my signature. How embarrassing!! I think it's fixed now, but let me know if not. Debate 12:59, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

[Live]: Request 6328 (Otakusan) Marked as 'Done' (Too Similar) by SwirlBoy39 on 2008-06-21 15:17:10

I marked this as too similar after you deferred it to admins because the name that it was similar to was just created this month. It might help to check out WP:ACC and WP:ACC/G. Cheers, SwirlBoy39 15:19, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Maneater

edit

Hi! You deleted my new page "Maneater" because it only contained three xs. that was just a test to check the links to it worked before I wrote the page. I have now written it - please feel free to add but I'd be grateful if you didn't delete it because it's a worthwhile book and should have a page. Helen-Eva (talk) 16:24, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for adding the stub category thing - I was just trying to work out how to do it myself! Helen-Eva (talk) 16:30, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

No problem, keep up the good work! - Icewedge (talk) 16:32, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey there, this page was speedy deleted after you placed a tag on it. Please remember to check page histories in future as the page in question had been vandalised a few minutes earlier. Naerii (complain) 20:00, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Ok, sorry about that. - Icewedge (talk) 20:40, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

RE:Editor review

edit

Hey, I just wanted to drop a note and thank you for your review of me! Tons of good information on how I can improve myself, which is really, really appreciated. Also, thank you for the RFA nom offer; I will definitely take you up on that, when I feel I have a high chance of passing!
Be sure to drop a line if you ever need anything! L'Aquatique[review] 22:10, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Glad too help, keep up the good work, ect... Hope too see you at the RFA soon! -Icewedge (talk) 23:09, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I forgot I was going to ask... where in Alaska are you? You don't have to tell me if ya don't want, but I just thought it was cool to be reviewed by a fellow Alaskan. I'm from Juneau, meself! L'Aquatique[review] 04:22, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Fairbanks here. It is surprising how many Alaskans you meet on WP. Not much else too do in the winter I guess (and there I go using a stereotype I know is wrong =/). -Icewedge (talk) 04:39, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Goat

edit

I expanded the article and added "Human-goat sexual intercourse" back into the DYK hopper under the June 20, 2008 creation date.[1] Please keep an eye on its DYK progress. Bebestbe (talk) 22:15, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

The article is already over 5 days old so it is no longer eligible and if you do re add a comment like that please add a note that it was note describing what you did as you made me look clueless. Aside, thanks for your work on the article but I think some of it needs to be trimmed, WP is not supposed to be an indiscriminate collection of information and we don't really need the article to mention every reported time anyone has ever committed such an act. -Icewedge (*bleet*) 02:16, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Darker Image Calendar

edit

I have included a talk section for this entry which includes the complete stories from the Los Angeles Times and The Hollywood Reporter that made mention of the calendar. You can see some of the television appearances on the website for the calendar under "Press" --> "Television". I think these stories clarify that this is not a "porn calendar." They also show that the calendar was notable enough to be featured on these ver popular television shows and written up in one of the better known newspapers in the US.

I believe the deletion nomination should be removed. PutneySwope1 (talk) 23:48, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

I have changed my stance to a weak keep, as several other people have expressed delete opinions however I am leaving the nomination open. -IcewedgЁ (ťalķ) 01:35, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Your speedy reconsideration is greatly appreciated. At what point can the deletion nomination tag be removed from the article? I don't want to violate Wikipedia policy by doing so prematurely. I assume your comment that you are "leaving the nomination open" means that you would like the tag to remain there for the time being... Please advise. PutneySwope1 (talk) 02:09, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Huggle

edit

I dunno what tasks Huggle is supposed to do, but I don't think blindly reverting anonymous contribs [2] should be one of them. - Keith D. Tyler 23:34, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Opps, sorry about that. Huggle has these bugs where keystrokes will be registered at wrong times if your using a slow internet connection and you press the advance key too many times to fast. Usually I catch such misreverts but not that time I guess. -IcĕwedgЁ (ťalķ) 23:40, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Re Optional Question

edit

So I see :) I must confess I was somewhat disapointed with your question, I had a five dollar bet with myself that the first optional question would be "what is the difference between a block and ban", so I am now owe myself $5.00 ;-) TomStar81 (Talk) 06:45, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I don't know if non integer questions are allowed.... But, you keep them 5$[3] :-P -IcĕwedgЁ (ťalķ) 06:57, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah! Now no one will have pay up. Thanx. TomStar81 (Talk) 07:03, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Do you get the feeling that Kojidude is unfamilar with both WP:CIVIl and WP:AGF? To me, it is apparently he is not familar with either policy and stepping on the toes of both. And at the same time no less. Sheesh... :) TomStar81 (Talk) 01:58, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
KojiDude does have extremely high standards in regard to RFA but I wouldn't necessary call him uncivil. I am not sure what the nonsense with the self-self debate is about though. I guess he is just tired of getting oppose badgered and wanted to head them off at the pass. -IcĕwedgЁ (ťalķ) 02:07, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
I guess so. I'm going to bow out from wikipedia for the day, I'm getting tired, and edit while tired is not recommend, in particular under stressful conditions. Don't want to do something now that I may regret later. TomStar81 (Talk) 03:33, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Re: Suggestion

edit

Yes, you're right, although you're certainly not the first. Sorry about that though. -Pilotguy contact tower 23:25, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I've deleted Andrew Schlafly because it was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Andrew Schlafly (2nd nomination). It needs to be overturned at deletion review, although if you want my thoughts, I don't think it'll pass because so much of the information is about Conservapedia. Also, it would be a nightmare to keep in line with our biographies of living persons policy, despite how rational the article may seem.-Wafulz (talk) 00:50, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

It's been userfied.-Wafulz (talk) 01:00, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
The article isn't all that different aside from the Lenski dialog. Normally I'd consider your request, but admins prefer to err on the side of caution with biographical articles.-Wafulz (talk) 01:06, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Can you do me a favor?

edit

Hey, fellow awesome editor from Alaska-
I've been taking questions from recent RFA's and answering them on a subpage of my userpage as a way to prepare myself for RFA. Can you look through them and see if I've said anything horribly bad? It's here: User:L'Aquatique/RFA FAQ. Thanks, dude- L'Aquatique[review] 19:07, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

WP:HAU, Status, and you!

edit

As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible) system - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 22:38, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Cabal online combat.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Cabal online combat.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:39, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Done, not that you care. I must be going senile, talking to the bots..... -IcĕwedgЁ (ťalķ) 09:00, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Closing AfDs

edit

Please note that tagging an article for speedy deletion is no guarantee that it will be deleted. That's why you should wait for the actual deletion of the article to be done before you close an AfD on an article that is also speedy-tagged. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 03:28, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Ok, sorry. It is a pretty surefire A7 though so I was not worried, but, yeah, I guess it is better to leave it open just in case. -IcĕwedgЁ (ťalķ) 03:31, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
