Chirillo (notes)

Drafts

edit

Jazz critic C. Michael Bailey, in 2002, commented that three pieces from Jim Hall's 1997 album, Textures (Telarc Jazz 83402, 1997) – (i) "Fanfare," (ii) "Quadrologue," and (iii) "Circus Dance" – have a major modern classical flavor similar to Chirillo's "Counterpoise #2" from Sultry Serenade.[1]

Homage Concerto

edit

Music critic Will Friedwald wrote the liner notes for Ken Peplowski's 1997 CD, Good Reed. In it he stated that Homage Concerto was dedicated to the memory of Benny Goodman. Chirillo, however, in the discography section of his website, states that Concerto was not dedicated to Goodman, but rather to Peplowski with the Loren Schoenberg Jazz Orchestra.
