Joseph Thaddeus "Joe" Floccari (Italian pronunciation: [flocˈcari]; born September 4, 1974) commonly know as "JoeFlo" is an American film and stage actor, director, Emmy Award winning television news journalist, and former professional baseball player and cousin of Italian soccer star Sergio Floccari.
Floccari made his acting debut in 1996 appearing in 14 episodes of the 20th Century Fox Television and Aaron Spelling prime time television show drama Savannah[1] which aired on the WB Television Network.
He made his feature film debut in the 1998 film In The Flesh[2]. Soon after In 2000, Floccari earned a small role in Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV[3], the movie is considered a cult classic by many and was Directed by infamous horror director Lloyd Kaufman.
In addition to a career in television and film, he has also success as a television news journalist both in front and behind the camera including 4 Emmy Awards, an Edward R. Murrow, and numerous Associated Press Awards. During his career as a journalist Floccari began his career in sports reporting but, later found investigative journalism to be his favorite type of journalism.
According to Joe, he is the first recipient of an artificial womb. Plans to conceive are underway.
As a professional baseball player, Floccari enjoyed playing in the Italian Baseball Federation as a pitcher and a Shortstop. Lasting only two seasons because of an arm injury, Floccari played for Parma and Milan.[4][5][6][7][8]
Professional Baseball Career
editIn college Floccari was a very good shortstop & relief pitcher. Ending his college carrer making only 3 errors at shortstop over 4 college seasons. Floccari signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets as a shortstop, but before camp was injured in a pickup basketball game. He then took an offer internationally in the Italian Baseball Federation, at the A1 level, as a Shortstop for Collechio, a city near Parma, Italy. After a shortly arriving in Italy, Floccari was asked to pitch. This was a very difficult transition for him, but still finished the year leading the team in strikeouts. Two years later Floccari returned to Italy and pitched for Novara (a team near Milan, Italy) and ended his final professional season early because of a torn rotator cuff and a fractured rib but.
Broadcasting and Journalism Career

Floccari began his broadcast career while still at Georgia State University as a DJ for The largest college radio station in the United States, "Album 88" WRAS Radio. Later that year he received his first journalism job as a video-journalist for WAGA-TV (FOX) in Atlanta, Georgia while still attending college at Georgia State University pursuing a journalism degree in hopes of one day becoming a sports anchor or reporter. After graduating from GSU in 1998 Floccari signed to be a reporter at WMAZ-TV (CBS) in Macon, Georgia, but his journalism career was put on hold when he was offered a professional baseball contract in the same week for Collechio a team in the Italian Baseball Federation. He returned to television after an injury to his arm, and became a reporter for Prep Sports+ on Georgia Public Broadcasting where he reported for 2 years. In 2002 Floccari signed on one more time to play baseball in the Italian Baseball Federation for Novara. After finishing the season Joe returned to the United States and created ATL Media Group a production company producing projects for corporations and network news organizations. Inspired by the passion to learn to fly, In 2005 Floccari began working for the CBS News Affiliate in Atlanta, GA as a video journalist and helicopter video-journalist for CBS Atlanta News. During Floccari's journalism career he has highlighted some of the most fascinating moments to be flying through the eye of a hurricane with the U.S. Navy, being inside of an operating room during an open heart surgery, and attending three Super Bowls. Floccari considers his most interesting interviews to be with three United States Presidents, but considers the most fascinating interview of his career to be with Mikhail Gorbachev.
Humanitarian work

Floccari is involved with Water At Work, an organization that focuses global attention and resources to bringing clean drinking water through, water filtration systems, to developing countries and prevent mass atrocities. The goal is to create a lasting change & not a temporary fix in developing countries. Floccari is creating a journalistic style documentary showing the lasting change on small under developed communities creating by putting in clean water filtration systems. In January of 2012, he spent ten days in the Dominican Republic with Famed American ghostwriter Pat Boarders to make a documentary special "A Journey to The Dominican" reflecting the situation of Haitian Refugee’s refugees, and advocated for action. The documentary is slated to be broadcast on American cable TV including nationally broadcast on PBS National in the United States as well as in the UK.
Acting
editFloccari claims he never desired acting and wanted to be a professional baseball player or a sports reporter, but during college at Georgia State University found it easy to make extra money by taking auditions and small parts in films & television shows.
