Giles Deacon is a renowned British fashion designer from Cumbria, England. He was born in Darlington[1], County Durham. Deacon studied at Central St Martins College of Art and Design, alongside his former girlfriend and influential stylist Katie Grand[2] and designers Alexander McQueen and Luella Bartley[3].

Deacon designed for high fashion houses as diverse as Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Bottega Veneta, Gucci and Louis Vuitton before starting his own label, Giles, in 2003[4], and being named British Fashion Designer of the Year 2007 at the prestigious British Fashion Awards [5][6].

Deacon also designed a range for the British high street store New Look [7] called 'Gold'. Model Agyness Deyn and actress Drew Barrymore have both starred in ad campaigns for the range. A menswear range for New Look followed in 2008[8]
