While working as a lecturer in the same college, he initiated his independent research in the areas of Analog Integrated Citcuits and Signal Processing and obtained his Ph.D. for some of his work on `Realisation of Some Classes of Active Networks' in the late eighties.

Professional career edit

He joined MNR Engineering college, Allahabad MNNIT, as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, in July 1975. Soon after finishing his Ph.D., he was selected for the position of Reader at MNNIT Allahabad in January 1987. In July 1988, he joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Delhi Institute of Technology (DIT), then at Kashmere Gate, New Delhi, India. It later shifted to Dwarka and was renamed as Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT). Dr. Senani became a full Professor at DIT (NSIT) in May 1990.

Honours edit

Senani is an elected Member of Sigma Xi: The Scientific Research Society (USA), a Senior Member of IEEE (USA), a Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) (IE) and a Life Fellow of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) India. He is a Chartered Electrical Engineer certified, recognised and registered by the Institution of Engineers (India).

In 2008, he was elected a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) in recognition of his excellent contributions to the field of `Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing' & `Analog VLSI Circuits and Systems'.

International award edit

In February 2012, Senani was chosen as the Second Laureate of the 25th Khwarizmi International Award (KIA), for his Excellence and Dedication in carrying out Fundamental Research on the `Synthesis and Design of Analog Filters, Oscillators and Simulated Impedances using Modern Electronic Circuit Building Blocks' by Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology.
