Born in Dakar, Senegal, Guewel performed at religious and traditional ceremonies and was a vocalist for a theatre and dance group. Test edit.

Guewel has been married five times and divorced four times. Her second marriage to Mbaye Guèye Ndiaye lasted for 20 years.^[1] Body
