Away
editI'm back at Uni (and Work!) now, so my appearances here are going to be sporadic. If really necessary, check the Contact Page[1] on my Student Webspace. I read my email religiously.
Todo
edit- Fix up Double Degree
- Commit Dual Award
- Do something about that Nils Landgren stub that's been sitting here for some time.
- Fix up the Feedback collection of articles
Bio
editI'm a 5th year Science/Engineering Double Degree student, studying at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. If you really want more, check out my RMITCS Student Webspace[2], although apart from my .plan there isn't much there either.
Edits and Editing Policy
editI've made lots of small minor ones, most made before I created this account. I am a self-confessed language nazi, and although I frequently correct errors here and in real life I don't hold against people. Mostly.
I also unbowdlerize profanity (only where the profanity is necesssary) in keeping with WP:Profanity [3]
I often edit to ensure that articles are consistent internationally and don't terms with ambiguous meanings across different English speaking countries. Some of my particular pet peeves:
- "Chips" as food (Potato chips? Fries? Crisps?)
- "Football" (Soccer? Aussie Rules? Gridiron?)
- "Gas" (is that the state of matter or the liquid petroleum? or liquid petroleum gas?)
- "College" (University? Place of residence? Both? Secondary School?)
- Amounts in "dollars" (is that Australian, American or Canadian?)
Rant #1
edit- Wikipedia is supposed to be an Meritocracy.
- Critics say it is Communist Ochlocracy.
- Fans say it's Democratic.
It's really just a Gerontocracy.
