Hi

Welcome!

Hello, DisturbedNerd999, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome!

BTW, I hope you don't mind that I subst'ed the stub template on your user page and removed the category link; I did this so that your page doesn't turn up in a category of articles for editors to expand. Grutness...wha? 00:35, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

{{helpme}} How do I put a request on a certain page to request that another page be merged into it? For example, I would like to request that Dead & Bloated and Crackerman be merged into the article Core (album) instead of just redirecting to there, because they deserve some explanation and the article doesn't mention anything about them except for in the track listing. How do I make that template appear on the article for Core?

Hello there! I think you've got your terminology a little confused; when we say we're merging a page (Article A) into another (Article B), that means we take any useful content in Article A and put it into Article B, then redirect Article A to Article B. If you'd like to write an article at one of those two, you're more than welcome to do so. To get there, you'll have to click the link in the "Redirected from <title>" line just under the title of the page you end up at. Before you begin, though, check the history for the redirects, as there may be a reason there's no article there. If not, make sure the songs meet notability and that you can provide enough sources to support the article. Good luck! Hersfold (t/a/c) 03:04, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

{{helpme}}How do I request that an article be deleted? I have found several articles that are just too short, don't meet notability, and lack references, all of which should be deleted. One other thing, because these articles are so short there is no useful information in them that can be merged into another article. Either a delete or a redirect is necessary.

There are three methods of requesting deletion. The articles for deletion page is the best place, as that opens the article to community discussion. You can propose the article for deletion, and if no-one objects in five days, then it will (probably, depending on circumstances) be deleted. For blatantly problematic articles, there is the speedy deletion criteria, which is used only for a very limited sphere of articles (spam, no assertion of notability, etc). Please review the deletion policy thoroughly before requesting articles to be deleted. Thanks, PeterSymonds (talk) 00:18, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

{{helpme}}Hello there! I was wondering how you put images on a page. It could be any page, most likely my user page or other pages here that use pictures, such as one about a music album. I heard that there are also some strict rules with pictures involving copyright infringement and fair use. Could you please explain to me the process of uploading pictures, how to put them in a page (the code needed to do so), and possibly some information about rules to follow with pictures?

hi im new to and i dont know alot either so maybe someone will help use soon because im confused and unsure of how wikipedia actually works in terms of chatting and posting a comment. I hope my comment got to your page so hope you find out how to get things to work right :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr.Bando (talkcontribs) 16:51, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of "Away from Me (Puddle of Mudd song)"

A page you created, Away from Me (Puddle of Mudd song), has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a song or piece of music, but does not indicate why it is important or significant (and thus why it should be included in an encyclopedia) and there is no article about the song's artist. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for music in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. --Sidonuke (talk :: contribs) 06:08, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Images

Mr.Bando (talk) 13:20, 10 December 2008 (UTC) Im not quiet sure how to put images on my talk page and i really dont know how to make my mage look good. DO you think you could help me?

I actually was wondering about that myself. I might ask some administrators about that. Let me know if you get any knowledge about that.--DisturbedNerd999 (talk) 20:56, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

You have been accused of sockpuppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the notes for the suspect, then respond to the evidence at Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/DisturbedNerd999. Thank you. A-Kartoffel (talk) 05:53, 21 December 2008 (UTC) As you can see above, I am guilty of sockpuppetry. I wish to repent so I can continue to add good faith edits, but I don't know how to deactivate my second account. How do I deactivate it?

You can ask an admin to indef block the second account. I have changed the help template so that it shows up on a page specifically for admins. // roux   02:01, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Thank you very much. In the link above to evidence of my sockpuppetry, I have apologised for my wrongdoings and swore on my life to continue to edit this encyclopedia only from this account (no other accounts or IPs), and stated a request that my other account and the IPs I've edited from be permanantly blocked. I also mentioned that, if an admin wants to, he/she can temporarily block this account for up to six months (should be fair considering what I've done). If this is the last thing that I say on Wikipedia (I'm not sure if I will be indef blocked on all accounts, including this one, but it's likely I will be blocked for a long time), then I would just like to say goodbye for now and thank you for your help.--DisturbedNerd999 (talk) 02:27, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm not an admin, but I would venture to guess that it's likely that admins would take your promises into account when they decide on what--or what not--to do. Good luck. // roux   05:09, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. seicer | talk | contribs 14:39, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Re:Apology

I must say I'm disappointed, but will definitely assume good faith as far as your promises are concerned. Be warned, though, that when the block is lifted you will be under very close scrutiny, so any steps out of line are likely to be punished fairly harshly. Re: Removing stuff from your talk page

Hi DisturbedNerd999 - welcome back. Yes, you can remove stuff from your talk page, but the safest thing to do is to archive it rather than deleting it completely. The way to do that is to create a new page (say User talk:DisturbedNerd999/Archive1) and move everything across to there. Put a link to the archive at the top of your (emptied) talk page, and start it afresh (you might even want to consider it as being like a fresh start on Wikipedia, under the circumstances).
