The following was posted at Wikipedia:Help desk‎ without reply, so I thought I try posting it here. Let me know if there is a better place to ask such questions. Thank you

Thanks for the useful advise. Could I ask you or anyone else if they might be willing to comment on and provide any suggestion on how to better leave a warning on a talkpage. see the following example:

Also if someone could look at the following as well I would appreciate it

The following as some samples of the warnings I have be giving to IP addresses that have been found engaging in vandalism. I would be interested in any comments as to how they might be improved or altered and whether they are in compliance with Wikipedia guidelines. Thankyou Dbiel (Talk) 03:22, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Dbiel. The warnings you issued looked fine to me - just one small suggestion. With each of the templates you used, there is an optional parameter that you can use to include the name of the article in the template. Many of the "uw" series templates also allow you to enter another optional parameter to add additional comments to the end of the message, so it doesn't get broken to the next line. Just type the code like so: {{subst:uw-vandal1|Article name|Your comments}}.
Also, you really don't need to tell them how quickly you reverted the edit. They'll see the time stamp in your signature, and it's not necessary anyway. Keep up the good work, and let me know if you have any questions! Hersfold (talk/work) 22:59, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
