Liu Yang (Chinese: 刘洋; born 18 June 1997) is a Chinese footballer currently playing as a defender for Dalian Zhixing.
Club career
editLiu played for the academies of Liaoning and Fushun Xinye, before a move to Spain in 2015, joining Sabadell.[1] He joined Lleida Esportiu the following year, spending most of his time in the club's 'B' team. He made his debut for Lleida Esportiu in a Copa del Rey match against Espanyol, the club fellow Chinese player Wu Lei was playing for at the time.[2][3] Wu scored both goals in a 2–0 win for Espanyol.
On his return to China in 2021, he was only able to join Chinese Champions League side Shaoxing Shangyu Pterosaur.[4] The move was seen as disappointing in Chinese media, who expected the player to be able to compete at a higher level, having had numerous years of training in Spain.[4]
