Batman: The Prequel is a 2014 action-adventure video game based on DC Comics' superhero Batman and developed by Rocksteady Studios.Will be released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows, Will be a prequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009)and Batman: Arkham City(2011).

It was reported that Rocksteady Studios, the developers of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, is currently in the process of developing their next installment of the series. According to a article produced by Variety, Rocksteady is currently working on a prequel to the Batman video game series that they have produced. Variety has learned that WBIE is expected to reteam some of the characters in some form for the next installment in Rocksteady Studios' gritty vidgame series that began with "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Arkham City."New, highly stylized title is being developed as a prequel that revolves around Batman's first meeting with the Joker. It's based on the Silver Age of DC's comicbooks from the 1950s when the Caped Crusader teamed with other heroes like Superman and founded the Justice League of America.
With the previous successes of the first two installments of this series, it is no surprise that Rocksteady would want to have a another installment to the franchise. Developing a prequel will give players the opportunity to see the events that transpired before they were introduced to Batman, in Arkham Asylum. In specific, I would expect that a lot of fans would love to see the initial developments between the Joker and Batman, making Rocksteady's choice a splendid one.
With no official showing of this title as of yet, it can only be inferred that this prequel will not see a release date in 2013 or 2014.
