Contributions
editMy contributions to Wikipedia usually come in the form of copy-editing, wikifying, adding infoboxes, and major touch-ups: i.e. just about anything you can think of, although I usually do major edits, such as splitting up or merging articles or adding sections, more than minor ones.
Contributions are split up in different categories, since I tend to follow a pattern of edits (i.e. add infoboxes to every literature article I can get my hands on), and also because I want to separate the articles I really put a lot of work into from the articles I only gave minor touch-ups to.
Most significant contributions
edit- Splitting up the long lost of examples of stock characters into more manageable sub-lists (took about an hour and half to do, I think).
- Expanding Something Wicked This Way Comes through a labor of love from a stub to an article containing an in-depth plot description (but hopefully not too long…then again it doesn't even approach the length of the Great Expectations plot section), cultural references section, analysis on novel's themes, and most recently a criticism section. Most likely the article I've worked the hardest on, and the only one so far that I've requested quality assessment and peer review for.
- Expanding Planet Ladder — Started on the article, and wikified other people's contributions to it. Its growth from a stub with a brief plot description and no image or character gallery to a fleshed-out article comparable to the quality of other, higher-profile manga articles never ceases to delight me. ^_^
- Completely revamping the Dandelion Wine article (yes, another Bradbury work :) ), first doing a revision of it in my personal sandbox, before editing the article itself with a lengthy plot summary and character descriptions.
Articles I have expanded (that are not included above)
edit- Expanded plot summary of The Crying Game and added a detailed and somewhat facetious spoiler warning. Article needed that kind of spoiler because even a careful look at the categories at the very end would have ruined the film's ingenious plot twist.
Articles I have started
edit- Let's All Kill Constance, by Ray Bradbury, with a brief synopsis and infobox. Currently, it still is in the stub category, because I have already forgotten most of its plot.
- Paranoid fiction after reading about it as a challenge in the monthly WikiProject Novels newsletter. According to the newsletter, that means I should be mentioned in the next newsletter in January. Of course, not being satisfied with a mere stub, I went back to it a few days later and expanded it considerably with the help of Internet sources. Now I can proudly state that I am the creator of an actual article and stub, instead of the creator of two stubs! ^.^
Articles I have split up or merged
edit- Split stock character into sub-lists.
- Expanded the mechanics of the love triangle and later merged the related love rectangle article with it (good editing practice too!).
- Merged the token character article with tokenism, which basically said the same thing.
- Merged the Eerie Queerie! article with the Eerie Queerie one (didn't even realize that there was another, better version of it until someone put up a merge request) and modifying added information on it to make it more "Wikified" – spelling and grammar corrections, more smooth syntax, that kind of stuff.
Articles I have "cleaned up" considerably
edit- Mary Sue by doing a thorough reading of the article and fixing the syntax to make the words "flow smoother," also cutting out redundant text.
- Great Expectations, where I condensed the entire summary (after requests on the talk page for a bold summary editor) that was so detailed that it pushed the article's size to over 90 kilobytes. Also completed summary out of pure memory as the original contributor of the summary stopped after Pip's discovery that Molly is…oops, almost spoiled that for you. ~_^
Articles I gave a cosmetic make-over
editNote: By 'cosmetic makeover', I mean only adding an infobox and some revisions (not a lengthy revision like I did to Dandelion Wine) to an article.
- Expanded the plot section of Ethan Frome and adding an image of the cover.
- Reverted vandalism done to Our Town (such is the fate of more obscure articles; vandalism done on them can languish for days) and adding an analysis section.
- Added infoboxes and fixed spelling and grammar errors in the following manga articles (no jokes, please, on the articles' content -_-):
- Added infoboxes to and, in many cases, expanded the plot summaries of the following articles:
- Esperanza Rising
- I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
- Tuck Everlasting
- The Wish Giver
- Most of the Ray Bradbury book articles (see below)
All articles on WikiProject Novels (for completion's sake) that I made noticeable edits to
editNote: Every single book article is listed below (excluding those I only made spelling/grammar fixes to), including repeats of book articles mentioned above. Most of them I just added infoboxes to or modified the plot summary slightly; if mentioned above, I did something more than that to them.
Second Note: Most of the listed books are works by Ray Bradbury that I added infoboxes to, the result of an editing spree on my favorite author's books. ^_^

- Ethan Frome
- Fahrenheit 451
