In a Nintendo Direct on February 8, 2023, Nintendo announced two sets of downloadable content and released an expansion pass, granting players access to both sets, as well as giving them additional in-game currency.[1]

The initial wave of downloadable content was released on February 28, 2023 allows players to access Inkopolis, the hub world of Splatoon (2015), with characters from that game returning.[2][3][4] The second wave was initially revealed in the February 2023 Direct, and was given a release date of Q2 2024 in the September 14, 2023 Nintendo Direct.[5]
