AS OF NOW, MY GOALS ON WIKIPEDIA: Be as awesome as possible, while helping out the project as usual. Maybe do my OLD Goals as well, but I didn't exactly have fun on those articles. However, I will always be interested in Kosovo for the sole reason of that being the first article I really "got into" and it made me learn all the rules of the wiki, and made me the competent and awesome editor I am now. Plus, it's kind of cool to be so neutral yet involved in an article. Feels good, man. Beam 20:49, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

My OLD Goal on Wikipedia:

Well, let me start off by sharing the reason I made an account here at Wikipedia. For years I had came to WP and learned from the articles, hardly giving a thought of what went into creating them. Once I realized that many editors from varying backgrounds and many origins worked together to achieve such displays of knowledge I knew I wanted to be involved. The idea that men and women of natural human bias can come together to create such articles is truly inspiring. I wanted in.

Wikipedia's policies of good faith, neutrality, consensus, and reliable sources, among other policies are the backbone of this source of information. I whole heartedly believe in the absolute awesomeness of this. And I dedicate myself to its propagation and continued successfulness.

I'm involved, or at least watch the following articles:

  • Kosovo - I began my involvement in this article because of the aforementioned way Wikipedia works. As a dedicated neutral party I felt that I could help bring together the nationalistic tendencies of opposing parties (Serbs/Albanians) to help produce a good article. So far I feel I have succeeded. Even in the face of biased editors and admins which have led me to be wrongfully topic banned. But the power of policy has ensured that these banishments were rightfully and thankfully overturned and found to be illconceived. I continue to fight for neutrailty at the Kosovo article and I promise I always will.
  • Burma - I hope to use my neutrality and faith in policy at this article as I have at Kosovo. Emotionally charged issues such as Burma and Kosovo are tough to deal with as emotion lends itself to problems.
  • Israel - I have studied history for years and Israel is such an interesting country, and its history is literally fascinating. This has lead me to become involved there. It was recently a featured article which is no small feat. Unfortunately the editors who worked so hard and valiantly to get that article to such a status are resisting any change. Per WP:OWN this is sometimes a problem. A problem I strive to fight at the Kosovo article on my own behalf. While it's been a struggle so far, I hope to bring the parties who are currently interested in the Israel article together via the policies I so admire.
  • Mahatma Gandhi - Just started to involve myself here. Right now I'm trying to revert an ill reasoned move to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi per WP:Name. I hopefully will be successful.

I also am involved in monitoring/editing:

  • Real estate appraisal - This is my profession, and I love it.
  • Boston Red Sox - This is one of my loves, I'm a member of the WikiProject.
  • Tobacco and Tobacco Smoking - I like tobacco, 2 packs a day worth, and unfortunately these articles are often targeted by vandals. Edits blanking the page, or the always cute "Smoking is bad for you and smells funny" additions are the most common culprit reverted by myself and other valiant editors. On Tobacco Smoking I managed to completely upgrade the intro. Oh shit, that sound you just heard was me injuring my back from patting it to hard!
  • Skull and Bones - After adding a superior quote to the intro (see me patting my back? impressive eh?) I added this page to my watchlist. It's also a target of vandals, who usually (and sadly) feel that there is a world wide conspiracy controlling world affairs involved with a Yale club. Their sources, however, aren't exactly reliable ;).

That's pretty much it for now, but I'm always interested in throwing down my neutrality filled love on any contentious article so if you need a third party let me know on my talk page.

We may have held slightly differing views over the Giano II case, but you came to me in a pleasant manner, wishing to sort it out civily, discuss it like human beings, and more importantly, to be friends. You can't ask for much more in a Wikipedian. Very best wishes, Lradrama 17:26, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
