One of the better quotes partially describing me is as follows:

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly."
- Lazarus Long, in Time Enough for Love by Robert A. Heinlein[1]

I haven't planned an invasion and died gallantly - yet!

And here is a nice song:

"The birds, they sang at the break of day
Start again, I heard them say
Don't dwell on what has passed away or what is yet to be.
Yeah, the wars, they will be fought again
The holy dove, she will be caught again
Bought and sold and bought again
The dove is never free.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in."
- Anthem by Leonard Cohen

Perseverance and faith are important to me.

Your Excellent Work on the Astrology Page

edit

Hey -- I just want to say "Thanks" for your stellar work on the Astrology page, as well as your amusing ability to punch holes in the arguments of the 'skeptics' on the Astrology Talk Page. Frankly, I am quite awed by your level of verbal fluency along with your thoroughness in quashing their obvious close-mindedness (and hatred) towards all things Astrology. It may all be sophistry as one person put it, but I don't think so -- you really know your stuff. So...thanks for staying an open-minded thinker and best of luck to you in the future! --205.188.116.13 04:27, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Regarding my adding back the 2 deleted sections: I was just doing "recent changes patrol" and when a large block of text showed up deleted fomr the Astrology article, I checked it it see what was going on. I judged that it was a good faith edit, but when I checked the talk page it had been some time since the last edit, and the claim that there was consensus to remove the two experiments wasn't there yet, so I added them back to the article, as is commonly done with referenced text. In other words, we were stuck in edit conflicts. Rather than edit war, I thought a little time to let the dust settle was in order. Further discussion should be on the article's talk page. Regards.
