IUM student complaints

The International University of Management (IUM) has explained to The Namibian consumer the nature of administration processes at campuses. Students have been mailling, complaining about about several issues they face at the university with late refunds being the major common of the complains.^[1]

Complaint 1: Students Receiving refunds lesser than expected

Students who are unsatisfied with refunds made to them and who claim not to have receiced any aid from the Finance Office are encouraged to provide their enough details and documents to the office of the Dean of Students.^[2]

Complaint 2: Student's Direct Deposits taking long to Reflect on students Accounts

Some of the deposits lack adequate student reference details, since IUM now only use the Bank Windhoek Account while it have been using both Bank Windhoek and Standard Bank accounts, and this forces the University to put these deposits in suspense while they are try to establish the depositors.

They are erging the students and their guardians to alwayas keep intouch the students names and numbers as reference on every deposit made. Thus why they also begged students to enclose deposit slips in queries case.^[3]

Complaint 3: Students receiving refunds late

Delays in students receiving their refunds may contributed to:

Students furnishing them with incorrect bank details. Actually, the refunds will not navigate through and the students will have to refurnish them with correct details.

Students suggesting funds to be deposited in passive accounts. Students hint back to them could be the conseques of the results.

Students expecting refunds before the Ministry of Education has paid IUM. They refund once only payment from ministry .^[4]

They have asked all students to open accounts with banks of their choice and the response has been overcoming. The university also encourages students to ensure the bank details submitted to Finance office for oppossible errors and omission or to use their finance aid e-mail.Students are encouraged to consult the office of the vice chancellor with queries and to use the ways of communication listed above.^[5]
