Unlike the listing I've included on my userpage, "bold" doesn't really signify any kind of opinion about a book. Instead, it marks what's the book and what's the discussion.
Note that 'some books are listed several times, under different subject headings, and that unless I've said otherwise, ISBN's are for the paperback editions.

- Retha Warnicke, The Rise and Fall of Anne Boleyn: Family Politics at the Court of Henry VIII. ISBN 0521406773.
A biography of Anne Boleyn. Most of it was reasonably well-written, but I can't agree with Warnicke's assertions about Anne's downfall. While I don't dispute what she says about English beliefs about the supernatural at the time — similar beliefs fed into the Salem witch trials, for example — Warnike fails to explain how Anne's death was the only plausible outcome. - Alison Weir, Eleanor of Aquitaine: A Life.
