About edit

My name is Scott and from 1998-2015 I was the bassist, lyricist and, on rare occasions, vocalist for the Wisconsin-based rock band Ammatusk --hence the user name.. For many years, the band was simply a way for a group of guys to get together and blow off steam on a weekly basis before we decided to get a bit more serious and release our first CD on April 1, 2005. As we all had day jobs and we weren't the most proficient band in the world, we didn't release our second CD until the tenth anniversary of the first CD -- April 1, 2015. Following the release of the second CD, the status of Ammatusk (at least for now) is "disbanded." For now, I continue to write songs

As you might expect, music is a very important part of my life. My favs include Marillion, Peter Gabriel-era Genesis, Del Amitri (vastly underrated, in my opinion), and Radiohead. Of course, if Emm Gryner ever called and asked me to play bass, I'd pretty much put my life on hold for that.

I am not yet a wizard at Wiki editing, but do try the occasional edit.

For "earning a living" purposes, I work in the Information Technology field and manage a team which supports users around the world. In addition, I am a member of our firm's Information Security review team. I am ITIL and CompTIA certified. I earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin -- Milwaukee Lubar School of Business. I have also worked in radio broadcasting as a disc jockey and still do occasional voice-over work. I am also an amateur radio operator in the US, holding the license class of Amateur Extra under the call sign of W9MBL. Most often I can be found on the 40m and 20m HF bands and locally on the 2m band.
