Fawan Issah Iddi (born October 9, 1994) is a Ghanaian Energy Expert [1]and politician. He is the Co-Founder of African Institute for Energy Policy and Security and a member of the National Democratic Congress(NDC)[2].

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Fawan Issah Iddi was born in October 1994 at SSNIT hospital in Osu, Accra[3], during his parents' business trip from Tamale[4]. He received his primary education at Tamale's Alhassan Gbanzaba Memorial School, where he was the computer prefect, and he is a former student of Kumasi's T. I Ahmadiya Senior High School[5]. He was the Northern Regional organizer for Curious minds Ghana[6](2011-2013), a youth-led organization dedicated to the development of children and youth.

Between 2013 and 2017, he attended Central University[7] and earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He received his Master of Science in Oil and Gas Management from Coventry University[8] in the United Kingdom in July 2021. Fawan also holds an MBA in Oil, Gas, and Energy Management from Unicaf University[9]in Malawi and is a Ph.D scholar at M. S Ramaiah University [10]of Applied Sciences, where he is studying PhD in Engineering and Technology with a research focus on developing a carbon reduction framework for oil and gas construction projects.

Fawan also has a Certificate in Project Management from Logos Business School[11] (August 2016), a Certificate of Competency in Health and Safety in the Oil and Gas Industry from Imperial College of Mines and Safety[12] (May 2017), a Certificate of Participation in Introductory Applied Reservoir Stimulation (October 2016), a Course Certificate in Renewable Energy: Resources & Technology from Coursera[13] (February 2022) and Course Certificate in Mathematical Optimization for Engineers, RWTH Aachen University[14], Aachen, Germany (June 2022).

POLITICAL LIFE

Fawan Issah Iddi is a third-generation NDC [2]member. His grandfather, Alhaji Iddi, was an advisor to the then-Northern Regional Chairman, Alhaji Mahamadu Maida[15]. His entire family grew up in Sakasaka on the NDC's principles and ideologies, with some being active NDC [2]financiers, former government appointees and other passionate fanatics. Fawan became involved in mainstream politics in 2017 as a TEIN PRO and social media activist. He was also a member of the team that gathered information for the draft of his party's youth policies in the NDC's 2020 campaign manifesto.

He was a member of the Youth for Change in the 2020 general election. The goal of the group was to have young people campaign to attract their own kind in support of the flag-bearer. Gilbert Iddi[16], a well-known politician, was the group's patron. The three-member finance team, Cyril, Fawan, and Ayuba, had the sole responsibility of raising funds for the group's activities, which they did successfully as the group campaigned in almost all of the 18 constituencies. He was a member of and contributed significantly to the Sharaf Foundation[17], which saw a group of young people campaign in most constituencies across the three northern region.

He was also the driving force behind the health screening exercise that took place in the northern region, specifically zugbeli, lamacara, kanshawu, tolon, and Tamale north[4]. Fawan is the founder of NDC[2] dependable ladies, a female NDC [2]group formed with the sole purpose of projecting the party's then-running mate, Professor Jane Naana[18], in the northern region through women empowerment programs And is currently running for the NDC's Northern Regional Youth Organizer position.
