Founded by Alecia Vimala in 2016, the small start-up is the first shoppable video based social platform of its kind. “When You Live Better, Someone Else Does Too,” is the mantra behind alecia.com, a media, technology and social platform powered by proprietary technology that delivers lifestyle content customized to each user. The app which can be downloaded for free from users’ smart phones, tablets, smart televisions and gaming consoles, delivers on-demand video content spanning cooking, home décor, fitness, beauty, style, wellness, sports, music and lifestyle topics.

Subscribers are able to watch healthy cooking shows and simply click to purchase any of the products or ingredients seen on screen; or watch DIY home renovations and get any of the home decor delivered right to their door. Upon signing-up, users complete a short profile indicating their interests, which can be amended at any time. From there, the technology does all the work identifying and displaying content on the user’s homepage that is only relevant to their specific interests.

Just like with other social networking sites, subscribers are able to connect with friends through the alecia.com app and tune into the same programming. alecia.com was founded in 2016 by Alecia Vimala, who initially created lifestyle videos out of her home for various businesses. Inspired by the need to educate and inspire people toward a healthier lifestyle, Vimala branched out and created alecia.com. Vimala created the proprietary technology herself and soon convinced investors to come on board. Within the company’s first year of launching, it had generated 137,000 subscribers just from its test markets. alecia.com has over 470+ productions of original content spanning cooking, baking, fitness, beauty, fashion, home decor, sports, talk, music and entertainment – all with the goal of helping viewers live better.
