This banner edit

In response to a message from User:HexaChord on my talk page and in the interests of keeping discussion in one place, I thought I would post here.

Firstly, sorry if you feel we have interfered. Feel free to revert the changes while we discuss this.

  1. I renamed the template because the previous name seemed completed illogical. As that one redirects to this one, it has no effect on transclusions.
  2. Gradually all project banners are being converted to use Template:WPBannerMeta. More often than not, these are done quietly without discussion because it has no apparent effect on the banner. In this case I accept it did!
  3. The fact that this is a taskforce of WikiProject Guitarists suggested to me that it would make sense to make use of the same banner to standardise its appearance and classification of articles.

Waiting for your input now ;) Martin 22:07, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not all (about 300) articles the task force works on at the moment are really interesting for WP:GUITAR. I guess it was a big fault to install this as a task force at all. Maybe a real project would have been better. ----Merry Headcheese!-hexaChord2 22:19, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
You're right. It doesn't make a lot of sense being a taskforce of Guitar if not all the articles are guitar-related! Would Wikipedia:WikiProject Musicians be more appropriate? Can you address point 1 above, i.e. about the illogical name of this template? I have converted to MetaBanner again (without change in appearance this time!) until you decide what's going to happen with this taskforce. Regards, Martin 11:26, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
When I started the taskforce and created the templates I was not completely sure what to do. I asked for help but got none. That's how this all came out. I thought user templates wouldn't get me into trouble. That was when I still thought the taskforce would not last longer than two days... I'm thinking about an independent project since the taskforce exists. Let's just see how many people will participate and if it makes sense at all. A lot of other projects are inactive. If it turns into a project it will change its face a bit, also including Bill Laswell, John Zorn or P-funk - depending on the members. ----Happy new Headcheese!-hexaChord2 00:06, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Have you read Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide yet? By the way, what is a headcheese? Martin 00:36, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Of course I read. That's why I started a taskforce and not a project. You don't know headcheese? In fact it's an inside joke: Track 9, Track 6 or a whole DVD----Happy new Headcheese!-hexaChord2 00:52, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
