Another way edit

This might be a better way to do this:

<div style="position:fixed; right:0; bottom:0; display:block; font-style: italic; background-color:red; font-weight:bold; border: 1px dotted white; color:white; padding:0px 3px">If you leave a new message on this page, I will reply<br />on this page unless you ask me to reply elsewhere.</div>

The message is at the bottom of the browser screen, not the WP page. --— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 20:21, 27 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Never mind, this does not work properly in IE. --—— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 11:24, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bad spacing in Safari and Firefox edit

Hi—I like this template a lot, but sometime in the last few months, it changed so that it consistently covers up the last part of any page that uses it, when I view it, anyway. I've looked at several other users of the template, using both Safari and Firefox, and it consistently occludes the last paragraph. cat=yes makes it even worse. I don't see any recent edits that might have effected this change, except maybe this one, which was a legitimate fix. Any suggestions? Thanks. —johndburger 16:21, 9 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

When I look at your talk page using FireFox 3, the first line of text {"If you leave a new message...") is bisected by the top line of the category box. It looks the same in Safari 3. --—— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 11:38, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes, exactly. Is this just me? How could that be? —johndburger 16:01, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Issue still exists, I propose this new chunk of code to be used in it's place:
<!--START CODE-->
<div style="margin-bottom:3.25em;">
<div style="position:absolute;bottom:{{#ifeq: |yes|5em|1em}};right:1em;">
<div style="position:relative;top:38px;font-style:italic;background-color:red;font-weight:bold;border:1px dotted white;color:white;padding:0px 3px;">
If you leave a new message on this page, I will reply on this page unless you ask me to reply elsewhere.
</div>
</div>
</div>
<!--END CODE-->

Cleaner edit

There's not a reason to have three DIV tags. I recommend using {{user:Timneu22/reply here}} instead. Or possibly, we could move the contents of my template to this one.

I have verified that I don't have the "last paragraph overwrite" problem described above. Tested on IE and Chrome. — Timneu22 · talk 18:34, 30 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Partially obscured edit

The template is being partially obscured by the Mediawiki software. Only the upper half of the line of text is showing. I am running the latest version of Firefox. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 20:36, 13 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Seems ok now. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 04:12, 30 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
