Template talk:Schools in jurisdiction

Latest comment: 17 years ago by Thivierr in topic utility of this template

To use this template, you need to specify the name of the jurisdiction (usually a state or province):

Place the following near the bottom of the category description page:

{{Schools in jurisdiction|jurisdiction}}

For an example, see Category:High schools in Alberta

edit

This template is like many navigational templates. It doesn't discourage or encourage article creation. It aids in finding what's already there. It works a little like {{birthyr}}. Even if you think most peole born in 2005 aren't notable, its still nice to have a link to Category:2005 births (e.g. its easy to navigate from any year, to any other year). Even if you don't want articles for most elementary schools in a jurisdiction, its still nice to have a link to the category of those we do have. So, I advise against any other edits that disable the utility of this template. If you still think this template is harmful, then nominate for deletion instead. Please note, this issue (see edit history) has nothing to do what schools we should or shouldn't keep. --Rob 02:39, 12 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
