MOS/accessibility issues

edit

This template employs CSS styling to adjust the font size. The styling doesn't appear to serve any function, and moreover is done in such a way that it greatly hinders accessibility. (The use of absolute point sizes is problematic for many visually impaired users, and even for those with normal sight, absolutely sized text can appear jarringly large or small depending on the user's default text styling.)

Wikipedia's Manual of Style provides that the font size should not be changed unnecessarily, and that necessary font size changes should be effected via relative rather than absolute sizes. I am therefore removing the font styling, in line with that community guideline. A local consensus here (or lack thereof) cannot override the much wider one that went into the Manual of Style.

Please do not break accessibility by reverting the change again. If there was a non-decorative reason for the use of the larger typeface, please discuss it here. Perhaps there is another way of achieving the same purpose which does not cause problems for our readers. —Psychonaut (talk) 07:30, 18 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
