Option to display intensity scale?

I think there should be an option to display the intensity name, eg. "VII (Very strong) – MMI". Especially for locales with their own system other than MMI for more clarity. (There is MSK for the Post-Soviet states, Shindo in Japan, PEIS in the Philippines). Or just display the intensity name by default. @Hariboneagle927 That does not sound like a bad idea, although most of the English speakers are situated in the US, UK, India, Australia, and Canada. Also the USGS only gives data in MMI, while the JMA only gives data in their scale. Maybe a tooltip would be helpful? Aasim (talk) 01:21, 3 September 2021 (UTC)

@Awesome Aasim: I'm being biased here, but in the Philippines (where English is an official language) we use PEIS system uses a similar but slightly different scale than MMI. (In PEIS Very Strong is VI, in MMI its VII). See for example 2013 Bohol earthquake where both systems are used. I don't know why our earthquake agency find a need to create a separate seismic scale than follow the rest of the English speaking world. A tooltip would be helpful.Hariboneagle927 (talk)

Shakemap intensity

Should we add a feature to the template that would allow readers to see whether the intensity listed has been generated by a human versus a computer? I don't quite know how many instances there are, but I know that I've used shakemap intensities before. I think they're a good resource where observed intensities are not available. I added the text "simulation" in parentheses on 1910 Taiwan earthquake and got to thinking that that could be a feature of the template instead of doing it manually.
